_THE BRIEF
A girl is about to leave her hometown. Before she goes, she has to say goodbye to her friends and to everything she used to love. The score had to hold a lot of emotion without overplaying it, then carry the film into a nostalgic city pop montage at the end.

The score stays deliberately calm: a plain acoustic guitar, with orchestration sitting far in the background. That restraint makes the emptiness louder, even while she is going through so much. The final montage turns to city pop for a rush of nostalgia. The tricky part was making acoustic, city pop and orchestra feel like one score, so every style is built from the same harmony and motifs introduced earlier in the film.
